Mani Monday | A Sparkling Heart

As Valentine's Day is approaching I couldn't wait to fill my nails with any thing and everything pink & hearts! Searching for the perfect design was the hardest since there are so many to choose from or think of! I didn't know if I should go for simple or intricate but I did find something that was a happy medium! Hearts, sparkles, and all shades of pink here I come!

What is your favorite part about Valentine's Day?

EyEnvy Eyelash & Eyebrow Lengthener/Conditioner | Review

I don't know if it's just me but I'm always so jealous of those girls that have beautiful long, thick and curled lashes! Unfortunately I was not blessed with that but definitely wish I was. I have short, thin and straight lashes. How unfortunate for me, right? I came across this eyelash & eyebrow "conditioner", "enhancer" or "lengthener" as I like to call it. It is the Eyenvy Eyelash & Eyebrow Conditioner. I discovered this product when I went to get my eyelash extensions done and was recommended the product. I usually find these kinds of products very gimmicky and when they told me the price of the product I thought that it was even more gimmicky! Despite how on the edge I was about EyEnvy, I decided to take the risk and buy the product. p.s. I must've been quite desperate for long lashes at that moment for me to have agreed to purchasing the product. I do have to say though that I chose correct this time and don't regret the risk of blowing the bills on this one item!

If you don't know what EyEnvy is then here is a run down of the product.

What is it?
Eyenvy is an eyelash & eyebrow conditioner.

What does it do?
"Clinical Studies have shown that EyEnvy helps improve the length and density of your own natural lashes". So really, it is supposed to improve the length, volume and thickness of both your eyelashes and eyebrows.

When should I use EyEnvy?
If you want to have nice long, luscious lashes or thick eyebrows. Some people even purchase EyEnvy because they have damaged their eyelashes from rubbing, pulling or irritating your lashes over time.

When can I see an improved appearance of my eyelashes and eyebrows?
4-6 weeks (side note: I saw an improved appearance after the 1st week but it wasn't until the 4th-5th week that I saw noticeable differences)

How much does EyEnvy cost?
I paid around $85

How long does EyEnvy last?
It holds a supply of up to 5 months

Is there constant up keep with the use of EyEnvy?
You need to apply it every morning to see improvement sooner! (personally, I put it on at night before I go to bed so that I am not touching my eyes as often) There are also instructions that come with the product explaining how to keep up with the use of the product. I just found that the way I am using the product was most efficient for me in getting longer lashes.

What is in EyEnvy made out of?
Combination of Vitamins & strengthening peptides! I know that is rather vague but here is a more detailed list:
1. Sodium hyaluronate (moisturizing factor that penetrates deep down into the dermis & promotes skin/blood micro circulation and nutrient absorption and maintain normal metabolism)
2. Grape seed extract (Potent antioxidant and wound-healing properties)
3. Bio-Peptides (Amino Acids - Helpt to rejuvenate and strengthen fragile hairs)
4. Tocopheryl-Vitamin E (Natural antioxidants to protect hair and follicles from environmental damage)
5. Ginseng root extract (Helps repair damaged hairs)
6. Chamomile (Helps soothe the sensitive skin)
7. Penta-peptide (Helps follicles reach their full potential)
8. Vitamin C (Acts as an antioxidant)
9. Vitamin A (Establishes normal skin function)
10. Vitamin B3 (Niacin amide - Cell communicating ingredient. Stimulates micro circulation in the dermis)

Were there any side effects of EyEnvy?
For me, yes, there were. After using EyEnvy for about 2 days my eyes became so red that it looked like I had pink eye! There was no pain but there was slight itchiness. I did use pink eye drops though to soothe my eye whenever it needed to be soothed, which was not very often. After consulting with my friend who also used the product, I came to the discovery that she had the same side effect as well when she first used the product. I am not sure if it is common or happens among all people but that would be the only "issue" I have with the product since they claim that you will have no side effects with the product. It was not a big deal to me, as the problem did go away in a couple of days. Another "side effect" of the product would be the mild darkening of the skin at the base of the eyelash that may occur, it will fade with discontinuing use. I don't feel like it bothers, at the moment!

My Experience:
I have been using this product for a total of about 3 months and have been quite pleased with the results that is has been giving me. I can really see the length and fullness in my lashes now! Of course my lashes aren't ultimately where I want them to be but I will definitely continue using the product until I have none left to see the progress of my lashes at that point! I understand how expensive it was to purchase the product at once but I wouldn't mind purchasing it again as it really only costs $17 a month, technically, if you were to break the total price down. I think it would definitely be worth purchasing the product again since I really am seeing results in the length, thickness and volume of my eyelashes. Here is a before and after picture for reference (p.s. I have NO makeup on in either photos!)

Before - October 8, 2013
After - January 26, 2013
So, after seeing the dates of when I took these pictures I can see it has for sure been at least 3 months since I have started using the product. As I write this post, this is also my first time seeing my before and after picture in comparison side to side. As you can see, in the photo there is much more thickness and volume that you can already visualize right away! My length has gotten longer, which you can't see so well in the photo, but I would still like improvement in the length regardless of how long it is now. Referring back to earlier in the post, in my after photo you can see the mild darkening of my skin at the base of the lash line. In person, I feel like I can not see the darkening as much which  is why the issue does not pose any glaring concerns for me. Actually, the picture seems to form a shadow that looks like darkening of the skin...when there actually is none! Overall, I am quite pleased with the improvement of my eyelashes through the use of EyEnvy and would recommend it to anyone who is seeking some luscious lashes in their life!

I hope this post and my experience will help give you an educated decision on whether EyEnvy is right for you, gave you a comparison to another brand or just gave you more knowledge about the product!

If you have any questions regarding the product feel free to tweet me, email me or leave a comment below! I would love to hear from you!

Do you have any tips and tricks for helping you grow out your eyelashes?

Cheers,

xx

My 2013 Favorites | Best of 2013

2013 is over and 2014 is here! In 2013 I discovered many new products that I loved and will still be enjoying in 2014! I think that this past year was definitely the first year that I actually tried different products and explored a bit more! P.S. If you would like to watch the video version of this post click HERE!

Here are my 2013 Favorites:

Skincare
1. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
I have been loving this face cleanser! Unlike other cleansers it doesn't make my face feel too moisturized nor too dry after using this face wash! I love how it makes my skin feel like it is at an equilibrium! It even smells like soy!

Haircare
2. Paul Mitchell Clarifying Shampoo
I love the smell of this shampoo. It doesn't smell like laundry but it definitely does remind me of clean, and fresh! This shampoo is great at taking out extra product build up in your hair, or in my case the excessive Chlorine that gets soaked up into my hair!

3. Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment
I absolutely love this hair treatment and have never been impressed with any others but this one!

Fragrance
4. Pink Fresh and Clean Body-Mist
This body mist reminds me of nothing but California! Bring me back!

Body Care
5. Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Radiant Body Lotion
I do not even know where to start with how much I love this body lotion! This lotion keeps my skin moisturized without the greasy feeling that some lotions have!

6. Persian Cold Wax
I will refuse to go back to shaving! This wax leaves my skin nice and smooth for weeks on end! That's one less thing that I have to worry about!

Blush & Bronzer
7. Benefit Cheek Stain
I love the "stay power" on this cheek stain! It stays put all day!

8. Powda Wowza Trio - Bella Bamba, Coralista, Hula Bronzer
The one major thing I want to comment on for this trio is the smell! It smells so nice and wonderful! Oh, and the colors are so long lasting and beautiful as well!

Concealer
9. Maybelline Dream Lumi-Touch
Since the discontinuation of the Sephora Highlighting Concealer, I have discovered this one and have been loving how highlighting it is!

Eyeshadow
10. MAC Bare Study Paint Pot
I love this when I am running late and need some light to my eyes!

Eyeliner
11. Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Eye Pencil (in black)
I am so pleased with this eyeliner since I don't have to worry about unwanted smudging which I have always experienced with other eyeliners!

12. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
I love the thin tip on this eyeliner! I feel like I can do a perfect wing every time!

Mascara
13. Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Waterproof
This mascara along with any of the other Maybelline Waterproof mascaras do an amazing job at keeping my curl all day! What I love about this mascara the most is the big brush!

Lips
14. Vaseline Lip Therapy (in Cocoa Butter)
This lip balm makes my lips moisturized unlike other lip balms that just straight out dry my lips! I appreciate the moisture that stays!

Nails
15. OPI GelColor (Passion)
This color is a beautiful nude color! I think it would be beautiful on any skin tone!

16. China Glaze (Pink Voltage)
This is my go to toe color! In fact, I have it on my toes right now as we speak!

Accessory
17. Infinity Necklace

This series is so great! I loved how the story took place on the beach! My favorite! A classic story about a girl who falls for a boy!

24. Elixir Series by Hilary Duff
I never knew that Hilary Duff was so talented! This story was definitely a mix of romance, adventure, and mystery to say the least! Falling in love with a mystery man, and learning a past about yourself that you never knew!

25. Lauren Conrad Style
Tips & Tricks Galore! This book is my GO-TO reference!

Project Life: DIY Recipe Book | First Impressions & Review

We are a little over 2 weeks into the New Year and I am happy to share that I've got a good kick start to my goals/resolutions! I may have gone out for wing night this week but I did stop by Michael's Craft store to get some materials to make a recipe book! Whenever I'm hungry, I open my fridge then realize that I don't know how to make anything delicious or I just choose an unhealthy snack from the pantry! (or worse...I go out and get something!) So... I thought that making my own recipe book would be the perfect way to not only hit my goals of SAVING money & eating out less but also helping me with becoming more healthy!

What do I love about the Project Life: DIY Recipe Book?
1. Color. I LOVE COLOR! I feel like color just brightens my day & makes me want to use the recipe book!

2. Dividers. I love how the recipe book can be organized and I love the fact that I can reference things quickly without having to flip through every single page!

3. Design. Not only do I love the color but I am all about aesthetics when it comes to anything. I love the polka dots, and the picnic table patterns...it just adds a special touch!

4. Card Holding Template. I can put pictures beside my recipe? The fact that I can include a real picture into my recipe book makes me feel like the book is a real published one! I love seeing what food looks like!

5. Themed Cards. With the themed cards I can add special notes to the recipe without making the recipe page itself look cluttered!

Do you have a recipe book at home? OR  Do you have any to-die-for recipes to share? (LEAVE THEM DOWN BELOW!)

Cheers,

xx

Mani Monday | Holy, Pink Sparkles!

All the joyous festivities are coming to a quiet end...but not my nails! I had a very hard time deciding what I wanted to do with my nails this week! I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to do Valentine's Day nails or not. Guess not because I thought I would roll out the holy grail of pinks and sparkles! I am so pleased with my nails and can't wait to rock my week! I actually feel so happy and I can conquer anything with these nails right now! Is this weird?

Is it just me or don't you just dread the feeling after Christmas & New Year's ends?!

Cheers,

My New Year's Resolutions 2014 | New Year's Resolutions

It is a start to a brand new year, and a brand new you! I have never really been the type of person to make New Year's resolutions but I thought I would give it a go this time around! I had to think long and hard about what I wanted my resolutions to be as I didn't want to make a goal that wasn't achievable nor unrealistic! Some of my resolutions may be strange... but nonetheless, here they are:

1. Eat Breakfast. I am notorious for letting myself go through the morning without eating any breakfast! This also doesn't help my body either when I have no morning boost to my metabolism! I am going to try to even eat something as little as a banana or apple to try and start up my body and get healthy!

2. Moisturize. This may be a weird goal but I know it needs to be something that is done! If I want to avoid premature wrinkles I should probably start moisturizing ASAP! For most of my life I don't remember ever moisturizing my face. I have combination oily skin so I always thought that if I added moisturizer that it would cause my skin to become even more oily. I was at Sephora the other day and found a moisturizer from the beauty line, Boscia, that will hopefully suit my skin type! I hope this will help!

3. Save. Save. Save. I am definitely a girl and love to shop! Sometimes it gets out of hand and I spend a little more than I should! Before purchasing an item, I am going to ask myself "Do I really need this?" "Will I keep this for a long time?" "Do I feel like a million bucks in this outfit?" If the answer is no. Then I will save that cash for another day.

4. Eat out less. I love food. I enjoy going to different restaurants and getting a little taste of what they have to offer but I realize that sometimes it is a bit unhealthy and also costly! This goal relates back to #3 and saving those big bucks for another day!

5. Motivate myself. When someone asks me to do a task I usually go full force and do that task to the best of my ability and I can be accountable for that. When it comes to myself and knowing I need to get things done, I am a little less motivated. I want to try and motivate myself and push myself to work harder so at the end of the day I feel like I did something!

6. Be Better. Sometimes I overthink things, and think about that moment instead of the bigger picture. I feel like I have been improving on that, but I want to continue with this goal and remember that sometimes the little things are just the little things, and I should look at what is really important.

7. Think before I speak. There are moments when I honestly feel like I have a speech impediment because words come flying out of my mouth before I can even think about what I am saying! I really want to work on slowing down my thought process and let all the thoughts run through my brain before I speak so I don't sound like I'm speaking mumbo-jumbo!

8. Little by Little. This goal is a little bit more school related. As most of us are, I am a procrastinator. I like to leave things until they absolutely have to be done. If someone else asks me to do something I tend to be a lot quicker with completing the task, but if it is anything for myself...let's just say that it is out of the window and lost, until I need to go looking for it! I want to try and keep up with my studies daily and understand the concepts instead of just memorizing them!

9. SLEEP! I always find myself staying up until midnight or sometimes a little past midnight even when I have to get up early the next morning! I want to try and aim to go to bed myself, instead of just fall asleep while using my phone or laptop!

10. Relax. Sometimes I don't know how to do this. I need to learn.

Have you made any New Year's Resolutions yet? If so, what are they?

Cheers,

xx

How to Make Your Resolutions STAY | New Year's Resolutions

5 Ways to Make Your Resolutions STAY

How many resolutions have you made that just never stuck? I have countless numbers of times that, that happened! Of course I start strong, then I inevitably forget about them! Knowing that I always lose track of my goals, I thought it would finally be great to think of tips & ideas to make sure I don't forget about them! Here is my list, I hope they help you with building a better YOU:

1. Don't out-do yourself. If you know it isn't a realistic goal, chances are that you won't achieve it. Resolutions are supposed to be attainable. You should be able to track your progress!

2. Write it down. What better way is it than making it official? I always find that writing something down makes me more committed!

3. Read them over. Nothing is worse than not reviewing your goals and ultimately losing them. Every month take a look at your goals and take a look at what you have done so far to achieve them! The feeling of accomplishment or lack thereof will hopefully push you to want to do even better!

4. Milestones. We all have big goals. But big goals are nothing without the little goals in-between to help us reach the big picture. If you have a bigger goal then write down the smaller steps that will guide you to the big prize. This will make it less overwhelming and more achievable!

5. Reward yourself. Everyone needs a pat on the back sometimes! If you know you've been sticking to your resolutions then treat yourself to something. Whether it is a night out, a new blouse, or maybe your favorite snack!

Remember, New Year's Resolutions are your own goals and no one knows those goals better than yourself. Don't let anyone stop you from doing what you want to do! Cheers to a New Year & a New You!

Cheers,
